Our bodies contain our histories — every chapter, line, and verse of every event and relationship in our lives.

Individual Counselling

The counselling process is always unique, determined by who you are and how you want to feel. The therapeutic relationship is the heart of the work, built upon a foundation of respect, trust, and safety. Counselling often feels like ‘talk therapy’ where we move forward by processing what you are going through in the present and what has happened in the past. It is also a place to learn new skills and strategies to deal with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic health and mental health issues, self-esteem and communication.

Individual counselling sessions are
$125 for 50 minutes.

Grief & Loss Therapy

When we lose someone we love or something that is a vital part of our lives, it can be devastating and heartbreaking. Grief is a profound experience that is physical, emotional, social and spiritual–it touches every aspect of our lives. Part of the pain of grief is that our cultural practices around loss are largely based on denial and avoidance, and this can leave us feeling isolated and misunderstood. Let me give you a space to express and process your grief. I can be a companion in this experience and can help you carry the grief as you move forward through this very personal, very human experience.

Individual counselling sessions are
$125 for 50 minutes.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)  is a therapeutic modality used to treat neuroplastic pain and mind/body symptoms. Working with me, you will develop a clear understanding of what neuroplastic pain is, why it begins and why it becomes chronic. We explore what triggers and the factors that contribute to your experience of pain. We develop strategies to help break the pain cycle and practice ways of understanding sensations in your body differently.

Individual counselling sessions are
$125 for 50 minutes.

Couples Counselling

When we feel disconnected in our primary relationships or when the communication deteriorates it can feel painful, sad and frustrating. You may have tried several times to address an issue, but it wasn’t changed, or worse, it has felt like you were battling each other. In counselling, we create space for compassion and honesty. I will support you and help you develop new ways of communicating and reconnecting with yourselves and your partners.

Couples counselling sessions are
$150 for 80 minutes.

How it works

Step 1

Contact me to book a consultation.

Step 2

If we’re a good fit to work together, I’ll send you the intake paperwork and we’ll schedule a first session where we’ll get to know each other and make a plan for your time in therapy.

Step 3

Sessions are 50 minutes for individuals and 80 minutes for couples counselling. The first few times we meet, I will ask detailed questions about your background, what you’re experiencing and the outcomes you hope we will achieve. I pay attention to your strengths and the resources you already possess. Working collaboratively, we identify goals or themes that you want to address. Counselling typically lasts about 6 months, but can range between 3 months to several years depending on your evolving goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, I am. Please contact me to book a consultation.

  • I offer both in-person and online counselling via Zoom.

  • The term “counselling” is used to describe the many ways registered clinical counsellors may help people, such as talking therapy to explore and process past and present experiences or learning coping strategies for specific issues. Specific therapies are designed for specific issues, such as healing trauma, processing grief and loss, or addressing chronic neuroplastic pain. When the term “therapy” is used, it usually indicates that a practitioner has done additional intensive training to be able to use a particular therapeutic modality.

  • The therapeutic relationship is paramount to healing and growth. You should feel safe to be vulnerable and honest with your counsellor, with the knowledge that they have earned your trust with their training, ethics and the relationship the two of you have built. If you feel my style or approach is not a good fit, that is a great thing for us to discuss! I can provide referrals to my counselling colleagues so you can find the relationship that is right for you.

  • You and I will tailor the counselling process to your goals, your needs, and your schedule. It can be helpful to begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions to allow us to move further faster. The duration and frequency of sessions can be adjusted at any time to suit your needs. Typically, we’d be working together for three to six months. Some people prefer an ongoing counselling relationship where they know they can schedule an appointment any time, as needed.

  • I work with adults: individuals and couples.

  • Counselling is not covered by MSP (although, it should be!). If you have extended health benefits, counselling may be covered. Benefits plans can vary greatly, so please check with your provider to determine your coverage. I do not offer direct billing with insurers.
